Adidas running line up makes no sense

Or does it? I'll leave that up to you

Hi there,

Adidas might have the most confusing shoe lineup in running - but I’ve cracked the code.

In this email I’ll breakdown the Adidas running line up, so you can make a smarter decision when buying your next pair

A while ago I posted this on X:

In that post, I ranked Adidas on the S-tier based on a 3 shoe rotation consisting of the:

  • Supernova Prima

  • Adizero Evo SL

  • Adios Pro 4

In my opinion, this is the best rotation you can build if you're sticking with Adidas. But there are still plenty of other shoes in their lineup—and many runners aren’t sure where they fit.

With categories like Supernova, Boost, Adistar, and Adizero, it’s easy to lose track of which shoe does what. Here's a quick breakdown:

  • Supernova: Everyday comfort for daily training. Great for beginners.

  • Adistar: Training shoes with a touch of stability, ideal for longer runs.

  • Boost: Focused on comfort and energy return, but the tech is starting to feel outdated.

  • Adizero: All about speed—racing and tempo-ready.

To make sense of it all, I made a simple decision tree to help guide you:

Quick tip: If you’re an overpronator… unfortunately, Adidas isn’t your best bet. The Supernova Solution is marketed as a stability shoe, but I’ve seen very few runners who actually get proper support from it.

I hope this guide helps you feel more confident in your next Adidas purchase.
