The Brooks Ecosystem, Mapped Out
How every model connects
Running shoe line ups start to get increasingly difficult to grasp and understand.
That is why I will breakdown the shoe line up from Brooks this week.
Brooks is obviously know for their daily trainers, like the Ghost and the Adrenaline.
But there are more shoes in the line up that fly a bit below the radar. So today I will breakdown the whole line-up.
To make things clear, I made this visual 👇

It shows every key model in the Brooks range, positioned by comfort vs. speed and neutral vs. stability.
If you’ve ever wondered “What’s the difference between Ghost and Glycerin?” or “Where does the Hyperion fit in?” - this should clear it up.
How the Lineup Fits Together
Daily Trainers
Ghost 17 / Ghost Max 3 – Brooks’ most versatile neutral trainers.
The Ghost 17 offers a balanced, reliable ride for easy runs and everyday mileage.
The Ghost Max 3 adds a higher stack and softer feel. The ghost max 3 also has a suprisingly wide fit and with the wider platform, it gives a lot of stability.Glycerin 22 / Glycerin Max – Maximum softness.
The Glycerin line uses DNA Loft v3 foam for a plush, smooth feel. This makes it a versitale allrounder with a bit more comfort compared to the ghost.
The Glycerin Max version pushes that cushioning to the extreme — perfect for long, easy miles when comfort matters more than pace.
Support / Stability Counterparts
Adrenaline GTS 24 / Glycerin GTS 22 / Beast GTS 24 – All rounder daily trainers, but with Brooks’ GuideRails system for extra stability.
If you noticed, the ranges are slightly different between the ghost & adrenaline, but also between the glycerin and glycerin GTS. There is a difference in comfort between the neutral and gts shoe, so be aware of that.
Adrenaline GTS 24: everyday support for mild overpronators.
Glycerin GTS 22: plush but stable.
Beast GTS 24: maximum control for runners who need strong guidance.
Performance
Hyperion 3 – Lightweight trainer for faster days. Firm, efficient, and great for intervals or tempo sessions on track.
Hyperion Max 3 – Adds stack and cushioning for high-volume workouts — ideal for marathon training where you want speed and protection.
Hyperion Elite 5 – Brooks’ carbon-plated racer. Lightweight, propulsive, and designed for race day.
Takeaways
Comfort → Speed:
The further right you go, the more responsive and speedy the ride gets.Stability → Neutral:
Move upward for more guidance and structure; downward for freedom and softness.Model Families:
Ghost / Glycerin = daily trainers
Adrenaline / Glycerin GTS / Beast = stability
Hyperion = performance
Final Thought
If you already run in one Brooks model, use this chart to find your “next step”:
Want more comfort? Slide left.
Want more speed? Move right.
Need more support? Go up.
Understanding this map helps you fine-tune your shoe rotation or pick the perfect replacement when your current pair wears out.
